Religion in times of Covid-19

If there is anything we have learned from this  experience, it is that the miracle and faith-healing industry is nothing but a sham. No religious leader has the power to heal you. Science is our only hope. Going to church right now is not just the height of spiritual carelessness, but also an act of foolishness. When the virus is under control, we can all troop back to our houses of worship. This is not to say that prayers and faith dont work. Neither does it mean they have no significance in the lives of people. Faith is the glue that holds people together in moments of crisis like this. It is also a purveyor of hope in moments of immense anxieties and fears. Yet, in times of global pandemics like the coronavirus, science and medicine would seem the more reliable solution. After all, it is science that has continually sought cures for these epidemics. The antiretroviral drugs and the Ebola vaccine (not prayers and demon-bashing) have given a new lease of life to milli...

Under the hilly landscape overlooking the fertile Subukia valley stands a towering white cross that welcomes visitors to the sacred grounds of National Marian Shrine of Kenya. The shrine, commonly known as, Subukia National Shrine stands on the Equator - the meeting point of the Northern and Southern hemispheres. The shrine, which has attracted both Christians and non-Christians since it was started in 1985, is owned by the Kenya Episcopal Conference and managed by the Franciscan Friars. Named by Cardinal Otunga. The shrine was named the Village of Mary Mother of God in 1984 by the late Michael Cardinal Maurice Otunga and later before 2002 General Election the Archbishop Ndingi Mwanaa’Nzeki led two archbishops, hundreds of priests and faithful in praying for peace at the shrine, The fact that Subukia is geographically at the centre of Kenya makes it suitable for bringing together people from all parts of Kenya and beyond. Reciting rosary I join a group of pilgrims on a lit...

The usage of this phrase is usually by woman who have felt a victim in a relationship, cheated on, or who have been hurt time and time again by Men but it is a lie that there are no good men. That all men cheat and are dogs. There are many good men who are single, many good men who are loving their woman right, many good men faithful to their wife and family. It is just that in this sensational world, we notice more the bad and use the bad to bash on the good. Af...

Hello brother and sisters......!! Let me take this opportunity to thank our heavenly God for allowing me to write to you today during this day of our youths international day I have entitled my Article  as “LET NO MAN DESPISE YOUR YOUTH." I can remember when I read the story of David the first day, it clicked in my mind, how this young man would defeat Goliath who had everything that is needed, you can imagine all the weapons at disposal for the giant man, those youths who have not read this story, you can refer to the book of first Samuel chapter seven and you will find it there.
